Death row meal part deux
So having finished my potato waffle sandwich starter I am now able to line myself up for the main attraction. This is a tricky one and the main reaon why i wanted to versions of the death row mealm after all there is a world of choice out there.
Now my guess at this stage if you did a straw pole of the nation then steak and chips is going to be up there, even with the vegetarians (might as well go out with a bang) and its a bit of a no brainer. I can't think of anything finer than a large slab of Aberdeen Angus fillet, cooked medium rare served with special potatoes and green beans.
But there again maybe I can. You see one of my fondest memories of childhood is my grannies mince and tatties and that's what I'm choosing for main in this death row bad boy.
No frippary, but a couple of essentials
1) it needs to be butchers mince, don't be taking me no death meal from tesco!
2) it comes with peas and the carrots are cooked in the mince.
3) while dumplings and beef sausages are optional, in this instance i feel they are both required, it is my last meal after all.
4) slightly contraversial (really!) but i like my tatties to be proper creamy mash, not everyones cup of tea but hey ho
Other than that, mixing everything together at some stage and eating it like a 6 year old is the only other thing required to make this a michelin starred meal from cell block H
Next up, dessert (or in this case pudding)
