Fat tax - really?

So this month see's the worlds first fat tax being introduced in Denmark, funny of all the places on earth I wouldnt have put the Danes down as podgers.  Not sure how I feel about this, I mean people don't become obese because of the availablity of fatty foods, it's because they eat more than they burn, no mathematical genius needed to work that baby out.

So the fat tax will be on any butter, oil, cheese, milk amongst others if they contain more than 2.3% fat, seems a bit shit to be honest.  I picked up a sandwich in a supermarket last week that had 32g of fat and over 600 calories, chicken and stuffing apparently.  I promptly put it down, i mean my body's no temple but that was a heart attack wrapped in plastic disguised as food, now eating that every day will make you a fat fucker.

As far as I'm aware this type of food isn't included which leaves us in the position where everyone who eats sensibly and does a bit of exercise gets punished. I mean i get it if they put a tax on fast food, sorry to shatter your illusions but MacDonalds really is a jobby in a bun (in the 90s this was literally tru in the US when over 25% of meat was found to contain the ecoli virus).

I have an alternative plan, how about a points system that gets you discount of food, not only does this reward the people who look after themselves but it would act as a motivator for people to get running.  So you run a mile and that gets you 10 points, which is like 10p of a mars bar, you get the idea.  You would get a special card like a tesco clubcard, maybe a tubcard, or  instead of an app maybe a bapp.

Apparently Wales are considering the tax next, who knows it might reach Scotland one day and then a riot will ensue in Strathclyde reminiscent of the battle scene in Braveheart.  Which will be nothing in comparison to what will happen if they tamper with MeeSoHairy's curry sauce and chips....
