At my signal, unleash health...
So it's all over for another year, can't say I'm gutted by that. It's amazing that we go through the year eating sensibly, exercising and drinking in moderation (well 2 out of 3 ain't bad), only to rip it up for a two week binge that would make a Roman orgy tremble.
I'm no saint in the food and drink department but I'm reasonably sensible and I watch what I eat, I could probably do better on the alcohol front but even the usual excess has been blown out of the water in a Nagazaki/Hiroshima style. I have no idea what it means when you wake up shaking but I suspect that when the cure is a can of carlsberg then it's not good news.
My other recovery cure was to go hill walking with "The Jappy" which was probably healthier but did make it feel like a heart attack was imminent until the toxins left my body. My confidence was not bolstered after being told I had aged 10 years since the last time we met, very motivational!
So the solution, for the year of 2012 I'm actually going to take care of my body, a priority further enforced with the imminent approach of my fortieth birthday. So no smoking, sensible eating and limited alcohol consumption, it's not going to be easy but it is entirely neccessary if I want to see fifty.

I doubt if I'll make it to Gladiator status but avoiding a full body implode will suffice for now
