Spaghetti Bolognese

Add the onion, carrot and celery to a pan with a good splash of olive oil and soften on a medium heat for about ten mintutes before adding the garlic and cooking for another couple of minutes. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.

Crank up the heat and add both sets of mince and the pancetta, you want to brown the mince and break it up while it cooks so that it doesn't clump together.

This is hardly haute cuisine. Basically all you need to do is make the sauce by adding the can of tomatoes with the paprika, onion powder, sugar and butter into a hot pan and reduce until you have a thick sauce.

Put all the ingredients (except oil) into a large bowl and mix well using your hands. Divide the mixture into 8 balls then flatten and shape into patties. Put on a plate, cover with cling film and chill for about an hour (or overnight).
